Sirmione

Sirmione, enclosed within the walls of a castle Scaligero, has a whole historical charm: entering the city through the castle drawbridge, continue to the tip of the peninsula to visit the remains of the largest Roman villa in northern Italy, calls Catullo Caves. Ancient atmospheres and famous thermal baths make Sirmione one of the most romantic places in Garda Lake.

Manerba del Garda

Manerba is nestled in the green hills of the Valtenesi, which, with its magnificent farms offer the unforgettable Garda oil, D.O.C wines already appreciated by the Romans, horseback riding, restaurants from simple Mediterranean cuisine and beautiful Golf Course. The looming fortress called “Rocca di Manerba”, a massive hill overlooking the lake where you can see much of the Garda Lake and some of its islands, is popular for leisurely walks on horseback or bicycle through a Natural Park.

Salò

On the beautiful promenade of Salò, the height of the landing stage, they notice “The Church of San Pietro” and “the Palazzo del Podesta” testimony to the noble history of the city. Situated on an enchanting gulf at the foot of Mount S. Bartolomeo (m. 568), it is the “capital” of the Alto Garda Bresciano. The historic center, between Piazza Carmine, the “cleansing” and the lakefront, is a dense network of streets, alleys and squares with stately homes, elegant shops, restaurants and bars.

Peschiera del Garda

Peschiera del Garda is one of the original towns of the Garda Lake, it is completely surrounded by canals and overlooks the lake at the point where the waters of Garda Lake come emissary Mincio. The historic center of Peschiera del Garda is in fact bounded by walls which changed the natural course of the river.

Art and History

For those who love art and history, the Garda Lake offers a charming blast from the past: medieval villages collected by walls and towers, La Scaligeri and Venetian castles.
Sumptuous Villas, attended by kings and the scene of important historical events testify to the wealth and power in times of peace: in Gargnano the great “Palazzo Bettoni”, designed in the late seventeenth century, and “Il Vittoriale degli Italiani”, the monumental citadel was the residence of Gabriele d’Annunzio. Do not miss a visit to Sirmione to the remains of the Roman villa known as “Grotte di Catullo” and a boat tour to the island of Garda and visit the other wonders of the lake.
